The monsoon currents have entered eastern parts of Sindh, and a rain system is expected to reach Karachi tonight, with the port city likely to experience its first pre-monsoon rain on Monday.
According to the Meteorological Office, Karachi is finally expected to get relief from the long hot weather, as pre-monsoon rains are forecasted from July 8 to 10 in the city.
Weather experts predict that the metropolis may experience drizzling this evening or tonight (Sunday), while a thunderstorm is expected to develop in the northeast today.
However, temperatures are expected to range between 37°C to 39°C, with heat intensity likely to increase during the day, they added.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) also confirmed that Karachi may experience drizzling tonight. Nevertheless, the weather will remain hot and humid in the next 24 hours.
The Met Office reported winds blowing at a speed of 17 kilometers from the west, with humidity recorded at 74%.
