KARACHI: A significant development has emerged in the high-profile murder case of 25-year-old Karachi businessman Mir Raza Ali, with police taking an important decision regarding the crime scene.
According to media reports, police have established a temporary check post at the exact location where Mir Raza’s body was found and have deployed a dedicated police force there.
Sources said the deployed personnel will remain on duty 24 hours in two shifts.
The first shift will be from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and the second shift from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM. The personnel posted at the check post have been strictly barred from leaving the crime scene until the case reaches its logical conclusion.
Case Background
The case of young businessman Mir Raza Ali has become one of the most high-profile cases in the city. The body of the 25-year-old was found on July 29.
Initially, police attempted to portray the death as a case of suicide. However, from day one, the family maintained that it was not a suicide but a cold-blooded murder.
The family’s stance was strengthened after several flaws and crucial evidence were allegedly ignored in the first postmortem report. On the orders of the court, Mir Raza’s grave was exhumed and a second postmortem was conducted.
The second postmortem report revealed critical findings that contradicted the suicide theory. It confirmed that the bullet had entered from the waist and exited through the chest. The report also confirmed broken ribs and head injuries.
The Sindh Forensic Science Laboratory has confirmed the identity of the deceased and matched the blood samples.
According to Jibran Nasir, counsel for Mir Raza’s family, acid was poured on the face of the deceased and he was administered anesthesia before being killed.
The family has demanded a transparent and impartial investigation into the murder and urged authorities to bring the culprits to justice.
