ATTOCK: A eight-year-old girl, who went missing from an engagement ceremony, was strangled to death after being raped in Attock, a police spokesperson said on Sunday.
According to details, the girl, identified as Fatima, went missing from an engagement ceremony, last night and later search for the girl was started on the complaint of the mother.
The body was recovered near Chhach Interchange in Attock. The police spokesperson has informed that the girl was allegedly raped and later strangulated to death.
“The body has been moved to Huzro hospital for postmortem, further investigation into the incident was underway,” the spokesperson added. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against unidentified persons.
District Police Officer (DPO) Attock Syed Khalid Hamdani has taken notice of the incident and has formed a special team to investigate the case. The team will be directly reporting to the DPO.
Meanwhile, a seven-year-old boy was subjected to sexual abuse in Lahore’s Shahdra. The suspect had been arrested and a first information report of the incident registered, police added.
