Minar-e-Pakistan incident: Iqrar-ul-Hassan faces backlash for interviewing Ayesha Akram

Anchor Iqrar-ul-Hassan has landed himself in hot waters for interviewing Ayesha Akram, the victim of who was allegedly harassed near Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on Independence Day.

The recent incident of harassment and assault on a TikTok star identified as Ayesha Akram at the grounds of Minar e Pakistan has left the nation in shock. However, after speculations that it the whole incident might be just a publicity stunt,  social media are outraged Iqrar ul Hassan went to interview the victim.

Controversial writer  Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar in his latest tweet expressed disappointment in Iqrar that if anyone wants to make someone being allegedly mistreated, then no one can do this better than Iqrar-ul-Hasan.

A Twitter user wrote in his message that the incident has become something else. He called for a full investigation into the incident, using a screenshot of Ayesha Akram’s message to the police not to take any further action. Another user posted that the drama should end and those who cashed in on the incident to gain publicity by defaming the state should be arrested.

One of the users shared a video and while narrating the incident, he called it a huge conspiracy to tarnish the image of Pakistan.
