The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast more snowfall and rain in KP and northern areas of the country.
The PMD said that light to moderate rain and snowfall are likely to begin from Friday in northern Balochistan and other northern parts of the country.
According to the department, a weak westerly weather system is expected to enter the western and northern regions of the country from January 30 and may persist until February 3.
Under the influence of this system, parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, including Diamer, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, and Shigar, as well as Neelum Valley, Balakot, and upper areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, are likely to experience partly cloudy weather with light to moderate rain and light to moderate snowfall over mountainous areas.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, areas including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, Kohistan, Buner, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat, Kurram, and Waziristan are expected to receive intermittent rain or snowfall from January 31 to February 2.
Occasional light rain is expected in Islamabad, the Pothohar region, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, and surrounding areas from February 1 to February 3, while Murree, Galiyat, and adjoining areas may also receive light rain and snowfall.
The PMD further said that from January 31 to February 1, light to moderate rain and snowfall are likely in northern parts of Balochistan, including Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Noshki, and Harnai.
