The International Cricket Council (ICC) has provisionally suspended United States cricketer Aaron Jones ahead of the T20 World Cup over alleged breaches of anti-corruption regulations.

In a statement, the ICC said most of the charges against the 31-year-old batter relate to the Bim 10 tournament 2023–24, which falls under Cricket West Indies’ anti-corruption code, while two charges concern international matches under the ICC’s jurisdiction.

According to the statement, Jones is accused of attempting to improperly influence the result, progress or any aspect of a match during the Bim 10 tournament, an offence described as a serious violation of the CWI Anti-Corruption Code.

He is also alleged to have failed to report approaches or offers that could amount to corrupt conduct and did not fully cooperate with investigations carried out by designated anti-corruption officials.

Under the ICC Anti-Corruption Code, Jones faces additional allegations, including failing to disclose full details of suspicious approaches received by the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Unit and obstructing investigations into potential corrupt activities or concealing evidence.

The ICC said the charges are part of a wider ongoing investigation and further action against other individuals may follow.

Aaron Jones has been suspended from all forms of cricket with immediate effect and has been given 14 days from 28 January 2026 to submit a written response to the charges.

The development comes just days before the start of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled to be held from 7 February to 8 March, jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

Jones’ suspension could force the United States to consider a replacement player for the tournament, as the official squad has yet to be announced.

Aaron Jones has represented the USA in 52 One Day Internationals and 48 T20 Internationals, scoring a total of 2,434 runs, including one century and 13 half-centuries.
