Rape has been confirmed in the case involving the abduction, and murder of a 5-year-old girl in Haripur.
According to Haripur DPO Shafiullah Gandapur, the medical board’s report proved that the victim was subjected to sexual assault. Moreover, bones in both of her thighs were broken, and swelling was found on her body.
The DPO said that the victim died due to excessive blood loss and severe terror and shock.
Four suspects, ranging between 13 and 18 years of age, have been arrested in the case, while raids are ongoing to apprehend other suspects.
According to police, the prime suspect, Usman, has confessed to the crime before a magistrate. The body of the victim was recovered from a deserted well on the identification of the fourth suspect, Hassan.
The DPO said that all arrested suspects have been transferred to jail. DNA samples, clothing, and other evidence have been collected and sent to a forensic laboratory. Over 400 police personnel participated in the search operation, and further investigation into the case is underway.
