KARACHI: Renowned religious scholar, Maulana Tariq Jamil, has defeated the coronavirus.
Taking to Twitter, the renowned religious scholar said, “Due to the prayers of all of you, my coronavirus test has turned negative. May Allah, by His mercy, save humanity from this pandemic.”

It may be recalled that on 13th December, the religious scholar’s coronavirus came out to be positive. In a message released on Twitter, he had written that he had been unwell for the past few days due to which the report was positive when he underwent a coronavirus test.

Maulana Tariq Jamil had said that he was admitted to the hospital after consulting a doctor. He also requested special prayers from all the devotees. It should be noted that the coronavirus test of Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar came positive yesterday.
“Just got my covid test result and it is positive. Will be isolating at home,” he said in a statement on Twitter.

Around 86 more people have lost their lives in Pakistan and the total death toll has reached 9,250 for 24 hours. According to the National Command and Operations Center, 3,179 new cases were reported in the country and the total number has risen to 454,673.

In Pakistan, 44,501 coronavirus patients have recovered and 40,922 are undergoing treatment. The highest number of deaths due to corona was in Punjab where 3,558 people lost their lives while 3,302 in Sindh, 1,521 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 388 in Islamabad, 99 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 179 in Balochistan and Azad. 203 people have lost their lives in Kashmir.
