KARACHI: Gulistan-e-Jauhar Police have arrested the mastermind behind a house robbery that occurred in Block 02, Jauhar, following a comprehensive investigation utilizing technical evidence and CCTV footage analysis.
Officials said the arrested accused has been identified as Muhammad Irfan Iqbal, son of Muhammad Iqbal.
Law enforcement officials apprehended the suspect through meticulous investigative work that combined digital forensics with video surveillance examination.
The case, registered under charge number 175/2026 under Section 397/34 of the Indian Penal Code at Gulistan-e-Jauhar Police Station, marks a significant breakthrough in addressing organized house robberies in the jurisdiction.
During the house robbery, the accused and his accomplices forcibly entered a residence, held the family hostage, and absconded with gold ornaments and other valuables.
Investigators uncovered a sophisticated criminal operation through interrogation of the suspect, who disclosed that he had coordinated with accomplices specially summoned from Faisalabad to execute the theft.
The accused’s modus operandi involved conducting reconnaissance of target houses before coordinating robbery operations through his associates.
Police successfully obtained critical CCTV footage documenting both the surveillance phase and pre-incident planning activities. The investigation revealed that Muhammad Irfan Iqbal was also absconding in multiple robbery, dacoity, and illegal weapons cases previously registered at Gulistan-e-Jauhar Police Station.
An illegal pistol and ammunition were recovered from the arrested accused’s possession.
Law enforcement officials also noted that one accomplice has already been apprehended by Gulistan-e-Jauhar Police, while the accused faces charges in two additional cases registered at Samanabad Police Station in Faisalabad.
Further investigation is underway, with police conducting active raids to locate and apprehend remaining suspects involved in the criminal network.
