Martyrdom anniversary of Kargil War heroes observed in native towns

ISLAMABAD: The 21st martyrdom anniversary of Kargil War heroes Captain Karnal Sher Khan and Havaldar Lalak Jan was observed at their native towns Swabi and Ghizer respectively.
Wreath-laying ceremonies were held to pay homage to supreme sacrifices of valiant sons of the soil in the line of duty to safeguard the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the nation.
On behalf of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Major General Ehsan Mehmood Khan, Force Commander Northern Areas, laid floral wreath at Havaldar Lalak Jan’s grave.
Commandant Punjab Regimental Centre laid floral wreath at the grave of Captain Karnal Sher Khan. People from various walks of lives, civil and military officials and relatives of martyrs attended the ceremonies.
Earlier, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz said the nation pays glowing tributes to the war heroes.
In a tweet, the minister said these great sons of the soil, who laid their lives for the country, are symbols of courage and valour.
He said the entire nation salutes to these brave soldiers. He prayed for the highest ranks in Jannah for the martyrs and patience for the bereaved family.
