Man, woman commit suicide over families’ opposition to marriage

A young man and woman commit suicide after taking pills when they learnt that their families were not agree for their marriage.

According to sources, the young man, Mazhar, wanted to marry Nisha, a resident of Kamoke .

After their families opposed the marriage, Mazhar took Nisha to People’s Colony. Police sources said both consumed pills which are used to kill pesticide in wheat.

The both were shifted to a hospital in critical condition but could not survive.

Police took the bodies into custody and shifted them for postmortem examination. A case regarding the kidnapping of the girl had also been registered at Sadar Kamoke Police Station.

Police said further investigation was underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
