KARACHI: A man was allegedly killed with a sharp-edged weapon during a quarrel between three friends at a buffalo farm in Surjani Town, police said.
The incident took place near a police post in Sector 9, within the jurisdiction of Surjani Town Police Station. Police reached the scene after receiving information about the incident and called the Crime Scene Unit to collect evidence.
The victim, identified as 45-year-old Muhammad Hanif, son of Hameedullah, was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital through an Edhi ambulance for legal formalities, where he was pronounced dead.
According to police, the buffalo farm where the incident occurred belongs to a man identified as Malik Mohsin. The three friends were allegedly drinking alcohol when an argument broke out, during which Hanif was attacked with a knife and sustained critical injuries.
Police arrested one suspect, Liaquat, son of Khair Muhammad, from the scene, while another suspect, Imran, son of Ramzan, managed to flee. Police have launched a search for the absconding suspect.
Investigators recovered a broken knife believed to be the murder weapon, a broken liquor bottle and blood-stained soil from the scene.
The Crime Scene Unit collected additional evidence, while police said further legal proceedings and investigation into the incident are underway.
