A mother, father and their six-month-old daughter were seriously injured in gunfire during a robbery resistance incident in Karachi’s New Karachi area.
The incident occurred near Samama Shopping Centre within the jurisdiction of Bilal Colony Police Station, where the woman, her husband and their infant daughter sustained serious gunshot wounds.
The injured were initially shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital by Chhipa ambulance. They were identified as Shehzada, Seema and their six-month-old daughter, Qurrat-ul-Ain.
The injured couple and their daughter were later transferred from Abbasi Shaheed Hospital to Jinnah Hospital by Chhipa ambulances for further treatment.
According to police, robbers were carrying out a robbery when police personnel arrived at the scene. The suspects opened fire, and the couple and their daughter were caught in the line of fire. The attackers subsequently fled the scene.
Residents said the shooting took place during a robbery. They alleged that the robbers looted three shops selling chicken meat and opened fire while fleeing the area.
