The man who threatened to blow up renowned Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s car and kill him inside his home has been found to be mentally unstable.
Just a day earlier, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan had received a death threat via WhatsApp, after which police registered a case.
The threatening message was sent by a resident of the Indian state of Gujarat, who claimed he would break into Salman Khan’s house and kill him, or destroy his car with a bomb.
Acting swiftly, Mumbai Police, in coordination with local police, arrested the suspect from the Waghodia area of Gujarat.
Senior police officer Rohan Anand told reporters that a Mumbai Police team, along with Waghodia Police, arrived at the suspect’s village home. However, investigations revealed that the man was mentally unstable and was already undergoing treatment.
According to authorities, the suspect’s family members and neighbors confirmed his mental health issues, and medical documents from the hospital were also verified.
Following the death threat, Mumbai Police have tightened security around Salman Khan’s Bandra residence to ensure his safety.
