Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz will inaugurate the launch Lahore’s Yellow Line Train Project this year, media reported on Saturday.
As per the detail, the feasibility report of the state-of-the-art Yellow Line Train Transit Project is almost finalized while the construction work on the project is all set to start in September 2025.The project will be completed in June 2026.
The Yellow Line Train project Transit Project will be expanded by 24 kilometers, while its estimated cost will be Rs60 billion to Rs80 billion.
Yellow Line Project will start from Jinnah Bus Terminal and will conclude on Harbanspura in June 2026. The train will run on both sides of Canal Road.
Around 18 modern smart stations will be established and 1,30,000 passengers will benefit from this facility every day.
The project will be included in the coming annual budget development projects.
A set of 30 trains will be imported from China. These electric trains are also operational in China and United Arab Emirates.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz already granted approval to this project while Punjab cabinet’s nod in this regard is still pending.
After the Punjab cabinet’s approval, this project will be forwarded to ECNEC for approval.
