LAHORE: Former Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik hailed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s decision for not awarding him and Hafeez with the central contracts because younger players are more deserving.
Talking to media in Lahore today (Wednesday), Shoaib Malik said that PCB has taken the best step for not adding him and Hafeez in the centrally contracted players.
Commenting on the World Cup performance, he said, “I know my performances in the World Cup were not good and I was criticized a lot but I have lost these things behind, and I am focused on the upcoming opportunities.
Shoaib appreciated new management led by former captain Misbah-ul-Haq decision of picking up new players and said, “I am always positive and looking for a new opportunity to shine for Pakistan.”
According to Malik, there is no importance of captaincy after wearing Pakistan attire as the priorities are the same for all of the players playing in the team.
Responding to his retirement, he said that he has not decided to take retirement from the T20I cricket yet and he will finalize his decision after T20 world cup.
