ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has urged the United Kingdom to play its role in resolving the Kashmir issue.
FM Qureshi telephoned British Foreign Secretary Rt. Hon. Dominic Raab and highlighted the violations of human rights in Indian occupied Kashmir.
The Foreign Minister also briefed the UK’s Foreign Secretary about the rising security situation in the region and shared Pakistan’s concern with regard to the latest developments in the middle east.
FM Qureshi also briefed him about Pakistan’s effort in the Afghan peace process and invited him to visit Pakistan.
In a statement issued by Foreign Office, regional and bilateral matters were discussed in the telephonic conversation.
UK’s Foreign Secretary appraised Pakistan’s efforts to defuse tensions and secure peace and security in the region. He also expressed hope to strengthen the relationship between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, the statement added.
