The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased the price of indigenous liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs. 6.99 per kg, increasing the price of 11.8 kg domestic cylinders by Rs. 82.5 for September 2024.
In a notification issued on Saturday, the regulator set the consumer price of LPG at Rs. 243.99 per kg for September. The 11.8 kg domestic cylinder price for consumers has been set at Rs. 2,879.1 for September 2024 compared to Rs. 2,796.5 in August.
It bears mentioning that the LPG producer price is linked with Saudi Aramco-CP and the US Dollar exchange rate. As compared to the previous month Saudi Aramco-CP increased by nearly 3.7 percent while the average US$ exchange rate was slightly up by 0.046 percent which caused the LPG rates to increase for consumers.
It may be recalled that the government has announced a minor decrease in petroleum prices for the next fifteen days. This is the third consecutive decrease in fuel prices since July 31.
