QUETTA: One Levies officer has been martyred and three officers were seriously injured in an exchange of fire with terrorists in the Pishin district of Balochistan.
After the shooting incident on Wednesday, the security forces arrested two dozen suspects, including the advertised criminals, and recovered stolen goods including motorcycles and illegal weapons.
Officials said that four Levies personnel were injured in an encounter between the Levies force personnel and the suspects in the Kali Manzari area of Pishin.
Officials further said that as soon as the exchange of fire was reported, the Levies force reached the spot and shifted the injured to the district hospital in Pishin, where one Levies officer died during treatment, while three others were shifted to the civil hospital in Quetta.
Deputy Commissioner Pashin Captain (R) Juma Dad Mandukhel said that the Levies Force arrested 24 suspected criminals who were also involved in terrorist activities.
The Levies officer who was martyred in the exchange of fire was identified as Hamidullah Tareen while Musa Jan, Bilal Khan, and Zahoor Agha were injured.
