LAHORE: Pakistan’s former pacer Mohammad Amir took a dig at the duo and questioned the way they handled the players as far as coaching is concerned.
“Waqar Younis is a legend while Misbahul Haq was a great captain but coaching is an entirely different thing. You have to learn how to coach players before joining this field,” he said while talking to media in Lahore.
Mohammad Amir claimed that he was not dropped from the side because of his performance. “I was not dropped from the side because of my performance. What Misbah and Waqar say on media is different from the actual facts,” Amir added.
The statement comes after Misbahul Haq and Waqar Younis stated that they did not any personal issues with Amir, who has taken retirement from international cricket after reservations with the national team management.
“I’m not saying that PCB should remove them from their respective roles but I can’t play for the national side with the current mindset of the coaching staff,” he concluded.
