ISLAMABAD: Illegal occupation continues unabated at the Park View Housing Society in Malot suburb of Bani Gala in the federal capital.
In the latest development, the land mafia has occupied the five kanals land of senior advocate Raja Shafqat and have brought heavy machinery and containers to the site.
The lawyer has lodged a complaint with Bani Gala police station and showed property documents as evidence of ownership. However, the land mafia is undeterred and has already made forged documents.
The lawyer’s son Raja Shamim said they had purchased the land in Malot ten years ago and set a boundary wall and signboard outside. However, he said armed men at the Park View Housing Society trespassed their private property, resorted to aerial firing, and occupied the land.
He said private property dealers Muhammad Fayyaz, Muhammad Shahbaz, and Malik Munir pose as officers of the Federal Investigation Officer (FIA) in the area. The three are led by Abdul Razzaq Butt who has brought 50 fugitives from across Punjab involved in several criminal cases.
He further said that Abdul Razzaq Butt and society chairman Farooq are working on the behest of Punjab minister Aleem Khan to merge adjoining lands in the Park View Housing Society. He said their land was located at an ideal location, which made it an easy target for the land mafia who want to include it in the housing society.
He said his father has moved the court to protect his property, yet the land has been occupied. Contempt of court has also been issued but the land mafia has been receiving police patronage and no action has been taken.
He said the land is located near the residence of the prime minister, but surprisingly neither the IGP Islamabad and Deputy Commissioner has taken notice of the illegal occupation.
