MUMBAI: Veteran musician Lata Mangeshkar, who was admitted to a Mumbai hospital last month, has been put back on ventilator after her health turned critical on Saturday, according to Indian media.
According to reports, the 92-year-old singer was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital on January 8 after testing positive for Covid-19. Mangeshka, was then treated for the virus and pneumonia from which she recovered well.
Meanwhile, ANI quoted her niece Rachna Shah as saying Mangeshka has mild symptoms. “She is doing fine. She has been kept in ICU only for precautionary reasons considering her age. Please respect our privacy and keep her in your prayers,” she added.
“Mangeshkar’s health condition has deteriorated again, she is critical. She is on a ventilator. She is still in ICU and will remain under the observation of doctors,” reported ANI quoting Dr Pratit Samdani of Breach Candy Hospital, who has been treating the singer since the singer’s admission.
On January 27, Mangeshkar was removed from the ventilator support as doctors saw improvement in her health. However, she was kept under medical observation in ICU (Intensive Care Unit).
Ever since the veteran singer was rushed to the Mumbai hospital in January, her team has been regularly sharing her health updates with fans.
