Land Mafia allegedly occupies graveyard land in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: The land mafia of Rawalpindi, with the alleged support of a concerned government official, has occupied a land allocated for a graveyard.

According to details, the Ratta Amral police have registered a case in this regard on the complaint of the land’s owner, Haji Mohammad Saeed. The victim has alleged that Adeel and his accomplices have occupied the land.

Haji Mohammad Saeed further informed that the land mafia had threatened to kill him. “A few days earlier, Adeel, along with his accomplices desecrated my ancestors’ graves and occupied the graveyard land,” he added.

He said that a concerned government official is also involved in the illegal occupation. “The concerned government official had prepared bogus documents of the land for the land mafia,” he added.

The victim also said that the police had registered a case against the land mafia, however, the occupants have not been arrested yet. “The police are working reluctantly in this regard,” he claimed.

The victim has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Police, and the concerned authorities to vacate the graveyard site.
