Vicky Panda’s Viral Claim Lands Him in Rs10 Crore Defamation Dispute

A controversy has erupted after food vlogger Vicky Panda, whose real name is Waqas Saleem, alleged that Lahore’s renowned Jeda Lassi uses chemical-based ingredients instead of fresh milk in its signature drink.

The claim, made during a podcast with The Blue Truth Digital, quickly went viral on social media, prompting the owners of the decades-old lassi shop to file a Rs100 million defamation lawsuit against the content creator.

During the interview, Vicky Panda questioned the authenticity of the dairy used by the business, claiming the drink was an artificial blend rather than traditional lassi. He also cast doubt on the city’s milk supply, suggesting the product was prepared using chemicals instead of real milk.

In response, Jeda Lassi served the vlogger with a legal notice seeking Rs100 million in damages, arguing that the allegations had harmed the business’s reputation. The notice reportedly demands that he provide evidence to support his claims or face legal consequences.

The dispute has ignited widespread debate across social media platforms. While some users have defended the vlogger’s criticism as an attempt to raise awareness about food quality, others argue that unverified allegations can unfairly damage the reputation of longstanding businesses.

Critics have also renewed concerns about the influence of food vloggers, with some accusing content creators of using negative reviews to pressure businesses for free products or promotions.
