LAHORE: The district administration has taken strict action against a stage theatre in the provincial capital after a video showing a minor boy watching an inappropriate dance performance at the venue went viral on social media.
The theatre was sealed on the immediate directives of Punjab Information and Culture Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari.
According to details, a video surfaced on various social media platforms the previous day, showing a minor boy at a private theatre in Punjab watching an ongoing dance performance. After the video went viral, social media users expressed outrage and called on the relevant authorities to take action.
Taking notice of the public complaints and the viral video, Information and Culture Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari directed the concerned authorities to take immediate action.

Officials from the Information Department said that, following the minister’s instructions, the theatre was promptly closed and sealed.
The administration said further legal and regulatory proceedings have been initiated in connection with the incident to ensure compliance with applicable laws and prevent such serious violations from recurring at theatres in the future.
