A 24-year-old girl was shot dead by unknown assailants in Lahore on Thursday, the day of her marriage.
According to police, the assailants on motorcycles opened fire on Ayesha, daughter of Habib, at her home in the Sundar area of Lahore. She received a bullet to head and breathed her last on the spot.
The Force said it had collected evidence from the crime scene and was investigating the incident from different angles.
Meanwhile, a man strangled his father to death over bitter words in the Chahmadh area of Kabirwala on Thursday.
According to the family, there was a minor argument between father and son before the murder. The unfortunate son named Tajammul killed his father, Pir Liaquat Shah. The son strangled his father and put him to eternal sleep.
The police took the body of the deceased and shifted it to the hospital for a postmortem. The accused fled from the scene.
