The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet has approved the Ramadan Support Package 2026 for low-income households, under which each eligible family will receive an average of Rs12,500.

The decision was taken during the 47th meeting of the provincial cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.

Finance Adviser Muzammil Aslam stated that, on the Chief Minister’s directives, approximately 1.063 million low-income individuals will benefit from the Ramadan package this year.

He confirmed that the provincial government will provide an average of Rs12,500 per family.

The KP government had introduced the Ramadan package for the first time in 2024, providing Rs10,000 per family. However, due to rising inflation, the amount has been increased by 25 per cent this year.

The cabinet also approved several other key decisions, including the reconstitution of the Quran Board, appointments to the National Commission for Minority Rights, an additional grant of Rs385 million for the families of Levies martyrs, and extra funding for police infrastructure projects in southern districts.
