A young motorcyclist was critically injured when a razor-sharped kite string slit his throat in the Gajju Matta area of Lahore on Sunday.
According to details, in the result of the incident, the motorcycle hit the fence of the Metro Bus, resulting in the injury of two children.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif took notice of the incident and directed to Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Punjab to forward her a detailed report about the incident immediately.
She strongly condemned the incident and said that the Punjab government adopted a zero-tolerance policy against persons involved in kite-flying incidents.
It should be noted that the Punjab government has imposed a complete ban on kite-flying in the province after several fatal incidents in the past. Now kite-flying is a non-bailable crime in the province, however even after strict government orders people are flying kites,s and as a result, incidents of throat slits continue.
