According to Rehman, he will always be upset about it always. It is said that Rehma’s negative remarks have emerged after Mahira Khan’s tweet she posted last year during the Aurat march. He once revealed how her tweet shattered him. The tweet made by Mahira Khan was in March 2020, where she asserted that she was shocked by the words uttered for Marvi Sarmad by Khalil-ur-Rehman.
I am shocked at what I have just heard and seen!! Sick to the core. This same man who abused a woman on tv is revered and given project after project because of what? We are as much to blame if not more for perpetuating this thinking! #khalilurrehmanqamar

The actress wrote using the hashtag of the playwright’s name that he is the same person who is given one project after another after ridiculing women. According to him, the tweet made by actress Mahira Khan against him was ‘inappropriate and shocking’. He also revealed that it would have been better if the actress had reacted to him on the phone.
On other hand, two of the prominent celebrities defended Mahira Khan and one of them was Adnan Malik, who was her costar in Sadqay Tumharay. He also shared his unpleasant experience of essaying the Pyaray Afzal writer in the drama.
Moreover, Mohammed Ehteshamuddin supported Khan as well and claimed that whatever the controversy is he will always support Mahira. To which, Mahira also shared his story and extended his love for his immense support.
