Fresh concerns have emerged over the lack of action against several officials implicated in irregularities and corruption linked to Karachi’s matriculation examinations, despite recommendations made by an official inquiry committee.
According to sources, authorities have yet to initiate disciplinary proceedings against key officials, including the Controller of Examinations and the Board Secretary, who were reportedly named in connection with administrative failures and examination-related misconduct.
Other officers accused of negligence and involvement in the unauthorized transfer of examination centers also remain in their positions.
The controversy stems from widespread complaints regarding mismanagement during the matric examinations conducted under the Karachi Board. Following public concern, the Sindh government took notice of the matter on April 11 and ordered an investigation into allegations of corruption and administrative shortcomings.
The inquiry committee subsequently recommended the suspension of several individuals, including the board chairman, and advised that anti-corruption proceedings be initiated against those found responsible.
Despite these recommendations, critics argue that implementation has been slow and incomplete.
