KARACHI: The sixth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) is all set to kick off today (Saturday) at National Stadium in Karachi with defending champions Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators locking horns in the opening fixture.
According to details, the domestic league which features players from all over the world is set to begin the tournament with a star-studded opening ceremony at 6:45pm on Saturday.
The stars to perform will include Atif Aslam, who will make his PSL opening ceremony debut, while rapper Imran Khan, and model Humaima Malik will be present alongside the PSL 2021 anthem stars — Naseebo Lal, Aima Baig, and Young Stunner.
Imad Wasim-led Karachi Kings are aiming to kick start their PSL 6 journey from where they left off on November 17, beating Lahore Qalandars in the PSL 5 final. Meanwhile, Quetta Gladiators will look to recover their lost run of the first four seasons after they finished last in PSL 5.
All security arrangements have been completed for the event. Only 7500 fans will be able to witness the matches at National Stadium. National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) has strictly directed authorities to ensure implementation of COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
