KARACHI: During recent days of Ramadan, Karachi has witnessed a surge in road accidents linked to fuel tankers, heavy trawlers, and careless riding by unlicensed motorcyclists.
Early Monday morning, three separate crashes across the city left three people dead and three injured within the span of an hour.
In Baldia Town No. 4, a pedestrian was killed instantly after being struck by a speeding vehicle. Near Shahrah-e-Faisal’s Awami Markaz, a biker lost his life when hit by a fast-moving car, while two others sustained injuries.
In Korangi Industrial Area, a water tanker ran over a woman, killing her and injuring another. The incident sparked public outrage, with angry residents setting the tanker ablaze and preventing fire brigade teams from extinguishing the flames until police arrived.
Rescue officials confirmed that three people were killed and three injured in these accidents, underscoring the growing dangers on Karachi’s roads during Ramadan.
