KE has announced a comprehensive planned maintenance shutdown scheduled for Friday, July 17, 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve the reliability, safety, and performance of the city’s electricity distribution network.
The maintenance activity will temporarily suspend power supply to dozens of feeders across various residential, commercial, and industrial areas of Karachi.
According to the maintenance schedule released by KE, power interruptions will generally begin between 7:00 AM and 10:35 AM, depending on the feeder, and continue until 3:59 PM, 5:59 PM, 6:00 PM, 6:30 PM, or 7:59 PM.
The planned shutdown will affect a wide range of localities, including Achanak Hotel, Allah Noor, Bath Island, Blessing Plaza, Chand Market (P-59), Diamond City, Embassy Villa, Grain Godown, Gulshan-e-Ameen Tower, Gulzar RMU, Haji Ismail Road PMT-4, Hingorabad, International Ceramic, Iqbal Plaza, J-01 Area RMU, Kh-e-Abbasi, Medico RMU, Megatron, Millat Town, Navy Housing Scheme, Nazia Square, Ned RMU, North Vista, Ocean Lawn RMU, Pak Land, Pakistan Bazar, Palace Theater, PIA Hangar, Project Housing Directorate, QEC, Rangers Headquarters, Sea View-12, Sector 4 Malir Cantt, Shaheen Grid RMU, Shareefabad (P-4 RMU), Sheraton Hotel, Tariq Bin Ziad, Toori Bangash, Uni Gold RMU, Wasi Country Park, Zia Colony RMU, and Zulfiqar Commercial-01, among others.
Several feeders, including Megatron, Navy Housing Scheme, Pakistan Bazar, and Toori Bangash, are expected to experience outages lasting up to 12 hours, while others will remain without electricity for approximately 8 to 10 hours, depending on the maintenance work planned.

KE has advised residents and businesses in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements in advance and use electricity responsibly once the supply is restored.
The utility urged that these planned shutdowns are essential for preventive maintenance, network strengthening, and ensuring improved power reliability in the future.
Consumers are encouraged to remain informed through KE’s official communication channels for any updates or changes to the maintenance schedule.
Restoration of electricity will commence immediately after the completion of maintenance work, subject to operational conditions.
