Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘Citadel’, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video, has concluded its last episode today.
This big-budget original happens to be one of the most expensive television shows ever made. Earlier, there were reports Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden starrer much talked about ‘Citadel’ is likely not to be back on screen with a sequel as despite its ambitious premise, ‘Citadel’ has so far received mixed reviews from critics.
‘Citadel’ became Amazon Prime’s debut to date with 25 million viewers, however, even after such impressive numbers the series was not able to create a sting fanbase with is unexpected to some extent.

However, the makers of the series have good news for the audience as the series is being renewed for another season.
Plot
Executive produced by the Russo Brothers, the futuristic action series tells the story of two secret agents (played by Madden and Chopra) who, after having their memory wiped by, find a way to remember their past and fight against a powerful crime syndicate.
Cast
Alongside Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra, the series also stars Stanley Tucci, Lesley Manville, Osy Ikhile, Ashleigh Cummings, Roland Møller, Caoilinn Springall, and Leo Woodall.
Season 2
Citadel was renewed for a second season long before the first season had even premiered. Prime Video has invested an almost historic amount of money into this series, just like their other record-breaking, excessively expensive original series, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
However, since last week there were reports of the season being scrapped for just after one season. Now, it has officially been announced that the series will return with another season.
Who will direct?
Joe Russo is set to direct every episode of Season 2 and David Weil will be returning as showrunner on the series, which also features Lesley Manville and Stanley Tucci.
All episodes of the series’ first season will be available to Prime Video customers beginning May 26.
