Islamabad: The Chairman of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) Sahibzada Hamid Raza has recommended that the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should contemplate resigning from assemblies and take to the streets If justice is not served to Imran Khan in the coming weeks.
Taking to the social media platform X, he emphasized, “We are not sitting in the assemblies to give this government a breathing space.” Sahibzada pledged to be the first to resign from the National Assembly in solidarity with Imran Khan.

Yesterday, PTI organized a ‘Release Imran Khan March’ from Karachi to Sukkur, spearheaded by Haleem Adil Sheikh and Shoaib Shaheen. Addressing the media during the event, Shoaib Shaheen reiterated their commitment to a peaceful struggle for Imran Khan’s release, asserting that the entire nation stands united behind PTI’s founder.
It is notable that all PTI-backed winning candidates in national and provincial assemblies are now affiliated with SIC, making the proposal from the SIC chief particularly significant.
Furthermore, it is pertinent to recall that PTI had previously resigned from national and provincial assemblies to compel the government to hold general elections in the country.
