Papa John’s Pakistan has sparked speculation about its future in the country after sharing a cryptic “goodbye” message on the eve of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day.
The US pizza chain posted a message, addressing Pakistan and thanking customers for the years it had spent serving them.
The post said it was “sad to say goodbye” but did not explain what exactly the brand was bidding farewell to.
The message quickly led to questions about whether Papa John’s could be preparing to leave the Pakistani market.

However, there has been no official confirmation that the company is shutting down its restaurants or exiting Pakistan.
The post could potentially be part of a marketing campaign or teaser for a new announcement, rather than an indication of a complete market exit.
Papa John’s Pakistan has not publicly clarified the meaning of the message.
It should be noted that the international pizza chain entered Pakistan in January 2019, opening its first restaurant in Lahore under a 45-store development agreement with master franchisee PJ Crescent Limited.
