Indian Court to hear scrapping Article 370 in IoK on Friday
NEW DELHI: The Indian Supreme Court (SC) will hear the petitions challenging the Indian government’s decision to scrap Article 370 which abrogated special status to Indian occupied Kashmir on Friday.
According to Indian media reports, a five-judge Bench led by Justice NV Ramana have been formed to start hearing from today’s petitions challenging the Centre’s move of revoking Article 370.
The Constitution bench headed by Justice Ramana comprises Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, R Subhash Reddy, BR Gavai and Surya Kant.

Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi has cited his bench’s preoccupation with the Ayodhya case to send all cases related to alleged human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir to another Constitution bench led by Justice NV Ramana.
Petitions referred to the bench include those related to press freedom, communication blockade, the validity of the lockdown and curbs on travel and movement.
On 5th August, India abolished Article 370 that granted special status to occupied Kashmir. The Modi government sent an unprecedented number of Indian troops to the occupied valley.
