India may invite Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to attend the annual meeting of the council of heads of government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) which will be hosted by India later this year.
According to news published in Indian Today, India would be writing an invitation letter to PM Imran as per protocol since he is the head of the government.
It further informed that the final decision on whether PM Imran would attend the meeting will be made by Islamabad.
The SCO includes eight members which are Pakistan, India, Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
India took over the presidency of the ‘heads of government’ meeting last year and it was announced in the 18th meeting of the SCO’s Council of heads of government held in Tashkent in 2019.
The SCO, which has its headquarters in Beijing, holds summits of heads of government meetings annually in member countries.
