In Pictures: Protests held for release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui

Protests have been held in various cities of the country calling for the release of Pakistani neurosurgeon Dr Aafia Siddqui who has been imprisoned in the United States.

The ‘Free Aafia Movement’ led by her sister Dr Fowzia Siddiqui held a protest outside the Karachi Press Club and held a march till Governor House.

Pasban Democratic Party (PDP) chairman Altaf Shakoor, Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) also joined the protest in Karachi. TLP leader Allama Razi Hussain Naqshbandi was also present on the occasion.

The protesters urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to fulfill his promise to take steps for Dr Aafia’s release and discuss the matter with US authorities for her repatriation to the country.
