Illegal ads case: Yousuf Gilani to be indicted on 27th Aug

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court has delayed indictment of former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani till 27th August in an illegal contracts case.
Yousuf Raza Gilani, former secretary of Information Technology Farooq Awan, former press information officer Mohammad Saleem, former company secretary Universal Service Fund Syed Hasan Sheikh and other individuals were nominated in the corruption reference.
The indictment was delayed due to the absence of Gilani in court today.
Duty Judge Tahir Mehmood said that today was fixed for the indictment of the accused in the case, all accused were present in the court excluding Gilani. The court adjourned the hearing later and extended till August 27.
According to NAB, the accused allegedly misused their positions to illegally grant an advertising contract in violation of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules.
Such misuse caused a loss of Rs129.07 million to national funds.
