ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued show-cause notice to special assistant to Prime Minister on information and broadcasting, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan.
Sources said that Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan criticized the institution in a press conference when the former premier Nawaz Sharif was granted bail on medical ground.

She said that granting bail to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMN-L) supremo will encourage other prisoners who may be suffering from different diseases to put forward similar requests.

The IHC issued her notice for her remarks saying that Dr. Firdous “made an attempt to scandalise the court in the eyes of the public, thereby, tried to lower the esteem of the judiciary.”
The court has also summoned the special assistant to appear in person in the high court on 1st of November.
