The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday directed the district administration to allow Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a rally in Islamabad.
According to the details, Chief Justice Aamer Farooq of IHC heard the appeal of PTI to allow the rally during which he directed the administration to impose conditions, but stressed that no one’s right to rally should be infringed upon. “Everyone conducts rallies; you can determine the rules and conditions,” he stated.
PTI lawyer Sher Afzal Marwat informed the court that they intend to hold a meeting on April 6 in Islamabad and are willing to comply with all conditions.
The Standing Counsel informed the court that permission for the rally had been denied due to security concerns, citing past violations of rules by PTI. In response, the Chief Justice remarked that imposing normal conditions is acceptable and urged for adherence to standard Terms of Reference (TOR).
Aamer Farooq emphasized that only standard TORs should be followed, without any unusual conditions. He noted that previous Chief Justices had also granted permission for such rallies, emphasizing the continuity of such rulings.
