Iffat Omar’s bizzare response to Surekha Sikri’s death sparks controversy

The actress left an inappropriate comment on Sikri’s death post stating: “Wow, Wow, Wow” she commented twice.

Earlier in the morning, Bollywood mourned over the death of veteran actress Surekha Sikri, who passed away due to a cardiac arrest. Like many notable actors, Pakistani actress Iffat Omar also commented on her death’s news but her remarks were quite bizarre. 

It all started when Omar decided to comment on the sad news shared by Elle India on its official Instagram account but her comment was strange for condolence text.

Many social media users were shocked to see such a response from Iffat Omer. However, after few hours once again commented under the post again and cleared the air by calling it a misunderstanding.

Bollywood’s three-time National Award-winning star passed away at age 75. The actress had been suffering from complications arising from a second brain stroke.  

Surekha Sikri’s career spanned theatre, films, and television. She made her debut with the 1978 film Kissa Kursi Ka.  She received three National Awards in her career for Best Supporting Actress for her performances in Tamas (1988), Mammo (1995), and Badhaai Ho (2018).

The actress also become popular for her role in the Television drama, Balika Vadhu. She was last seen in the Netflix anthology Ghost Stories where she starred alongside Janhvi Kapoor in the Zoya Akhtar directorial.
