The inflow of water in the Tarbela and Mangla dams has increased after the recent monsoon rains.
According to WAPDA sources, the water level in Tarbela Dam has risen by 45 feet in a few days while the water level in Mangla has risen by 50 feet.
Water discharge from Mangla Dam has been reduced while discharge from Tarbela Dam has been increased. WAPDA sources further said that due to the increase in water inflow, hydel power production is also likely to increase in a few days.

It should be noted that the monsoon is continuing across the country. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) says rains are likely to continue in most parts of the country until the morning of July 7, while monsoon winds are likely to intensify by the end of the week.
