The Government of Pakistan is expected to launch applications for the Government Hajj Scheme 2027 in the coming days, with an official announcement of the Hajj policy anticipated shortly.
While pilgrims will once again have a choice between long- and short-duration Hajj packages, the cost of performing Hajj is expected to increase compared with last year. The scheme is also expected to include installment-based payments to ease the financial burden on applicants, along with provisions for overseas Pakistanis to apply.
Reports say that under the government Hajj scheme, approximately 107,832 Pakistani pilgrims will perform Hajj. Under the private Hajj scheme, 71,888 pilgrims will be allowed to perform Hajj through the 40% quota allocated to private operators.
The Hajj expenses are expected to be collected in two installments to reduce the financial burden of making a single lump-sum payment. According to sources:
The long-duration Hajj package is expected to cost around PKR 1.2 million. The short-duration Hajj package is expected to cost around PKR 1.3 million.
Under the government scheme, pilgrims will be able to select either the long- or short-duration package based on their convenience and preferred length of stay.
Reports also indicate that overseas Pakistanis will be able to apply under the government Hajj scheme and will be eligible to pay their Hajj dues through the scheme.
Officials say that, at this stage, only individuals who have already registered will be able to complete their Hajj applications and submit the required payments according to the announced schedule.
