NEW DELHI: Reports reaching here suggest clashes have erupted between two Muslims and Hindus in Madhya Pradesh’s Khandwa district after a mob of Hindu extremists broke into a Muslim man’s residence at Munshi Chowk in Dubey Colony, placed a Hanuman idol, and began worshiping it.
The mob, led by Hindu extremist Ravindra Avhad, a former councilor candidate in Khandwa’s Padamkund ward, allegedly broke into Sheikh Asgar’s house, installed the Hanuman idol, and started performing religious ceremonies.
Besides that, a group of Hindu extremists torched and defiled a church in Madhya Pradesh’s Narmadapuram district. Locals found burnt furniture inside, walls blackened with smoke from the fire, and ‘Ram’ written on the wall inside the Christian prayer hall in Chauki Pura village in tribal dominated Sukhtawa block of the district. Local police said a case was filed under Indian Penal Code Section 295 (Injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class)against unidentified accused.
