Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy recently said that he was unsure of its release date as the movie was ‘half-shot and half-edited’.
The threequel which stars Ryan Reynolds in the titular part alongside Hugh Jackman, all set to reprise Wolverine after over half a decade, was already in production, and the filming was half done. however, the sudden announcement of the strike halted everything, and even the threequel had to turn the cameras down.
Now, when the director Shawn Levy hinted at a possible delay in the release date, there is a new worrisome rumour in place. As per Levy, the release date is at ‘true risk’ due to the production pause after actors joined writers on the picket line. Levy explained, “I don’t even know if we officially have [a release date]. I know we were gonna be May 3. Certainly, the actors’ strike and the long pause in production have put that release date in true risk.”
Talking about the Ryan Reynolds-starrer action film, Levy further said that the plot of the film was still under wraps considering that it has only been half-shot and half-edited till now. “We’ve shot half the movie. I’ve edited half the movie. We’re dying to get back to work and get this movie out next year,” Levy explained.
The production of Deadpool 3 stopped on July 14 during the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. The film will be distributed by Walt Disney Motion Pictures. Besides Ryan, other actors who will be starring in the film are, Morena Baccarin, Jennifer Garner, and Matthew Macfadyen among others.
