The novel coronavirus has spread in almost every province of Pakistan and has affected more than 370 people. So far, the deadly virus has claimed lives of 2 people and both were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Sindh has remained the most affected province of Pakistan from coronavirus. The federal and all provincial governments are taking effective measures to curb the outbreak of COVID-19.
The federal Education Ministry has postponed all the examination, including O and A levels exam, in-country until June 1.
Sindh government has announced the closure of shopping malls and restaurants for the next 15 days. Government offices in the province will also be shut down till April 3.
In this regard, Punjab government has imposed section 144 in the province to prohibit public gathering and hoarding of stuff like hand sanitizers and masks, etc. the provincial government also closed Murree for tourists.
Every provincial government is taking measures to protect the citizens from the virus. However, the point is what will happen to those people who earn daily.
Labour that earns daily and try to feed his home will be affected badly. If lockdown happens in several cities of Pakistan, how will the labour survive in this situation?
Today we will give you some suggestions on how we, as a nation, should react in such a situation.
Don’t wait for Ramadan for Zakat
One thing everyone should understand that Islam does not set Ramadan month to donate Zakat, in fact, Zakat is related to wealthy people.
The people who meet the necessary criteria should offer Zakat to poor people who are coping with the catastrophic disaster like coronavirus.
Indeed, the reward of every good deed is increased in Ramadan, but helping poor people is definitely a great virtue according to Almighty Allah.
Welfare Agencies
Several welfare organizations in the country have come out to help the poor in this tough situation. If you want, you can also help poor people by giving charities to these agencies.
Many agencies provide you with an online payment method for charity. If you want to see where your money is used, then some welfare organizations are ready to fulfill your wish.
Government should take steps
If the government is considering a lockdown in country, then a comprehensive plan and strategy should be made to meet the challenges faced by the poor people of the country.
The government should take stern steps to provide deserving people with monthly rations, essential items and medicines. Donations can also be made in the form of cash or checks.
Government should also provide subsidies in all terms. Loans with no interest in the middle class can also be provided. This type of lending is also a virtue that has been neglected in today’s world.
