The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved an increase of Rs. 1.34 per liter in the dealers’ margin on petrol and diesel.
A meeting of the Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), chaired by Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, was held, during which a revision of dealers’ margins on petroleum products was approved.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, the meeting considered a summary presented by the Petroleum Division and held detailed discussions on revising dealers’ margins for Motor Spirit (MS) and High-Speed Diesel (HSD).
Following the ECC’s approval, the dealers’ margin has increased by Rs. 1.34, bringing it to Rs. 9.98 per liter. Previously, dealers received a margin of Rs. 8.64 per liter.
The Vice Chairman of the All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association confirmed the increase in the dealers’ margin and thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik.

It should be noted that the Petroleum Dealers Association had called for a nationwide strike for tomorrow, August 15.
In a statement posted on social media, the association said that the “threat” of the strike was the primary reason behind the increase in the dealers’ margin.
The statement further said that following negotiations held in Islamabad the previous day, the Petroleum Minister contacted the association’s chairman, Malik Khuda Bakhsh, by telephone and informed him that “the Prime Minister has approved an increase of Rs. 1.34 per litre in the dealers’ margin.”
