A Karachi court on Thursday acquitted Anmol alias Pinky in three drug cases registered at Gizri police station after the prosecution failed to produce sufficient evidence against her.
The Additional District and Sessions Court South approved Pinky’s acquittal pleas in all three cases. Her counsel, Anam Kausar, argued that the co-accused had already been acquitted, leaving no reasonable prospect of conviction against her.
According to the defence, Ali and Fahmida were acquitted in 2024, while Pinky had been implicated largely on the basis of statements allegedly attributed to the co-accused.
After hearing the arguments, the court accepted her pleas and ordered her release if she was not required in any other case.
The three cases were registered at Gizri police station between 2020 and 2022.
Pinky was arrested on May 12, 2026, during a joint operation by police and a federal intelligence agency in Karachi’s Garden area. Police claimed to have recovered around 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, a 9mm pistol and chemicals allegedly used in cocaine production.
Authorities have accused her of running an organized drug network and linked her to several cases involving narcotics, weapons, attempted murder and murder.
However, these allegations remain unproven in court.
Despite Thursday’s acquittals, Pinky continues to face proceedings in other cases, including a drug case registered at Garden police station and a case registered at Baghdadi police station.
